The problem

Backing up configs by hand means logging into each device, copying the running config and naming a file. That is slow and inconsistent, so backups get skipped, and mixed firmware breaks simple scripts.

What I built

I built a Windows desktop app that logs into a list of Aruba and HP switches, access points and controllers over SSH and saves each running config in parallel. Every run ends with a plain-English error report.

How it works

  1. Set default credentials, an output folder and a thread count.
  2. Build device lists by hand, from CSV or by scanning a range.
  3. Start Backup; devices run on a thread pool.
  4. Configs save into Switches and AccessPoints folders.
  5. Read the summary and the suggested checks for each failure.
